Improving Target Quality
It is the intent of the South Carolina Skeet Shooting Association to focus on improving overall target quality in South Carolina at all clubs hosting South Carolina Skeet Shooting Association registered shoots.
Every club in SC has, to some degree, experienced poor target quality. This is not an attempt to single out certain clubs. It is an effort to focus statewide on a process, with SCSSA support, that will help cooperating clubs enhance target quality, improve shooting scores and participation enjoyment statewide.
Draft Suggestions
The SCSSA Executive Committee will appoint an individual to serve as the SCSSA Target Quality Coordinator.
The Target Quality Coordinator will be responsible, with Executive Committee support, to:
A. Develop suggestions for a statewide improvement process
B. Coordinate the implementation of said process
C. Importantly act as a “hands on” resource to host clubs
All Clubs hosting SCSSA registered shoots are asked to consider making known the person/s responsible for maintaining their machines. These individuals will be afforded the opportunity to network with the Target Quality Coordinator and/or other club designees to do what is necessary to better maintain their machines and enhance overall target quality.
The SCSSA Target Quality Coordinator will work with the SCSSA Executive Committee to develop adequate and fair compensation for required travel etc.
