South Carolina Skeet Shooting Association Hall of Fame

Election to the South Carolina Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame (HOF) is an honor bestowed on individuals who have demonstrated dedication and accomplishment to the sport of skeet shooting in South Carolina.

A process previously adopted by SCSSA provides an objective way to qualify candidates and a subjective means to select qualified individuals from the candidate list.

Guidelines for Determining HOF Candidates:

Inductees into the SC HOF are screened and selected by a three person HOF Committee appointed by the executive Committee during the election of officers at the SCSSA Annual Meeting. These members are selected on the basis of representation of active SCSSA member clubs. Service on the Committee is to be no more than three consecutive years with staggered terms for continuity.

Any SCSSA member can submit a candidate by writing to any member of the SCSSA HOF Committee, thus making their case why their candidate deserves this honor. A comprehensive list of the candidate’s accomplishments per the HOF Qualifying Criteria is to be included in the written summary.

South Carolina Hall of Fame Qualifying Criteria:

·         Active Shooter age 50 or more.  (1 point)

·         Lifetime NSSA Registered Targets of 50, 000 or more.  (2 points)

·         State or Zone Championship, including Concurrent.  (3 points)

·         SCSSA Service as Officer or other capacity.  (4 points)

·         Achievement AA or better in all four guns or make “Top Ten” list for five years or more (does not have to be consecutive). ( 5 points)

The value of the above criteria sums to 15 maximum points. If a male shooter attains a prerequisite score of 10 or more he is entitled to consideration as a candidate for HOF nomination. Likewise a female shooter is entitled to consideration with 7 points. Final HOF Inductee selection is by subjective consensus of the HOF Committee. If consensus is not achieved, the SCSSA President’s decision will be final
