South Carolina State Shoot 2007
Mid-Carolina Gun Club, Orangeburg SC hosted the 68th annual South Carolina State Skeet Championship. To all of us in the south who have been suffering this summer with record heat we were pleased to have temperatures in the low nineties and at times (The .410 event) mild breezes.
Sixty-nine competitors came out to enjoy the weekend. The HOA state Champion was four time winner Frank Suber with a score of 392. Runner- up was Jamie Bridwell with a 391. Frank also won the HAA with a very respectable 491.
Senior Frank Suber won the doubles event with a 99, the 20GA with a 99 and was runner-up in the .410 with a 97 being bested by relative new comer Sam Tupper who won shooting a score of 98.
Rod Stroman won the 12ga. which was decided by a shoot-off between Rod and Tom Hartranft who each shot 100. Mark Howell won the 28 ga. event without missing a target and junior Kyle Taylor was runner-up with a 99.
The Lady Champion was Mary Jo Pierce with her 5th victory. Brad Bilicki was the Junior Champion with an HOA of 383.
Many thanks to all the behind the scenes help that made this shoot possible and a special thanks to our Georgia friend and competitor David Terrell for keeping track of all the scores.
